So we stopped by the "Natural Bridge" in VA, because the pictures online were really cool, and besides, we needed to stretch our legs anyway. What we didn't know, until we entered the enormous gift shop/ticket counter, was that it would cost NINETY dollars for our family to see the Natural Bridge. At all. No homeschool discounts, no discount for having sooo many children, nothing. So we decided to shake the dust of this place off our feet. But not before we found out that Timothy was this tall next to a stuffed bear...
And Laura was this tall. On her tiptoes.
And this wax face was really ugly.
Then we went back to a little more of this...
before we headed onward, on our way to Charlottesville!

Griffiths in DC/well, northern VA, so far...

We crammed our stuff and ourselves into the Suburban. Thomas read an entire book and a half before we got out of Tennessee. Jay is reading something by C.S. Lewis, and Rob East of Eden, which he says is terrible, which means he likes the book, but really bad things are happening. Laura read a Nancy Drew book and part of The Great Little Madison, as well as some other books I can't remember. Timothy read The Adventures of Tintin. And asked how much longer. After several hours in the car, we had to bring out the new magnetic toys. Todd cannot read, and he was tired of singing "To Life" to himself, as nobody bothers to chime in much anymore, except sometimes Laura. Thank goodness I remembered to pack the Looney tunes dvd, for that anxious last half hour before Charlottesville! (traffic stopped on the interstate...)

It's also good that we had leftover "loaves and fish" from VBS. Very good.

I'm a little lost on how to place these pictures--more later!
