The Smithsonian

The first thing we saw in the National Art Gallery was finger painting. No kidding.
There was a huge elevator!!!
This lovely thing by Manet...
Guess who? This world was never meant for one as beautiful as you...
Degas? All I know is, it was life sized, pretty much...
Beautiful.
Monet's water lilies...
(Can you believe we saw all this live?)
This is a guitar. Yes, it is.
Flat T.J. went to the museum, too.
O.K. somebody, help me out here...
Come along little brother, I'll get you through these revolving doors...
My new favorite, Winslow Homer, painted "The Dinner Horn."
As well as this lovely thing called, "Sparrow Hall." Click on this image to see the fat baby.
This almost made me cry.
And Rubens's Daniel in the Lions Den.
Jay and Rob saw almost everything in the museum--and recognized much of it--thank you Cindy Landham!!!!!! They truly loved it better because of you!
?
And the "Healing of the Paralytic" from 16th Century Netherlands...
We are lunch in the Old Post Office Pavilion, and met Emily Lawyer! She is so fabulous, and we were thrilled to catch up with her. She and the boys discovered they have the same tastes in music! I'm so silly I forgot to take a picture, but I will steal one from facebook and put it here!!!

There, that worked well, I think. *roll eyes*
So John impressed the guys with his monstrous Galaga skills.
Spellcheck doesn't recognize "Galaga?" Huh?
Todd enjoyed his pretend game of racecar driving.
And Laura posed with her namesake at the Museum of American History.
Okay. This was Mrs. Taft's gown. I'm not kidding. Isn't it fabulous? But wait.
This, is Martha Washington's. I'M NOT KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think you know who this belongs to...
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha...
By the time we walked up to the Washington monument, we were pooped. Jay and Thomas slept on this marble slab. Laura drew a picture. Timothy asked for food.
Todd made a friend with this darling little boy.
Whoever thought to pack Rush Hour was a genius. Finally a quiet moment in the hotel.
